Abstract: The crystalline silicon solar cell industry has been growing remarkably in the recent ten years, along with continuous improvement on the manufacturing technology. In this paper, we have briefly reviewed the history of solar cell development, the working principle of solar cell, and the process sequence on manufacturing crystalline silicon solar cell. We have introduced several industrialapplicable methods to improve the solar cell performance, such as wafer property optimization, uniform high sheet resistance emitter, advance metallization, and selective emitter. The impact of advance processing on the large scale manufacturing has also been addressed.
