Abstract: Visual system is the most important sensory channel through which humans receive information from the outside world. In the brief review, the important achievements of visual neuronal mechanisms by neuroscientists for tens of years are introduced from single neuron to system level, in order to provide readers a clear and overall understanding of neuronal mechanisms of vision.
