With the fast pace of ocean exploitation, unmanned underwater vehicles,as the most important means of ocean exploration for human, gained unprecedented attention and development. In this article, the definition and classification of the unmanned underwater vehicles are given. The current status and developing tendency of unmanned underwater vehicles in recent years are introduced, and the key technologies and future development direction of autonomous underwater vehicle are analyzed.

In western culture, phenomena decided by substance and its structure are the manifestations showing in a special time-space. The objectivity and repeatable observation of the phenomena are paid more attention. “Xiang” in Chinese culture, with similar meaning as phenomena, has many differences, such as naturality, entirety, time series, the harmony of nature and human beings, and the union of phenomena and their essences. Intuitive comprehension is the main method of detecting “Xiang”. Analogy is a way to express “Xiang”. “Xiang” thinking has three levels. They are concreted “Xiang”, abstracted “Xiang” and conceptualized “Xiang”. The “Zheng” distinguishing and the basic theory of Chinese medicine show the features of “Xiang” thinking thoroughly.

Marine biodiversity is the indispensible part of global biodiversity. Although China is abundant with marine biological resources, its biodiversity is seriously threatened. Recently, the number of endangered marine species on record has reached 556. The status quo and characteristics of the endangered marine species in China were summarized, the cause why marine organisms decrease or are even endangered was analyzed, and the protection measures of marine endangered species and marine diversity were expounded in China. A series of protection measures and suggestions was then put forward for marine biodiversity conservation and sustainable development of the marine environment.

Tibetan antelope is listed as the first grade wildlife of China, and included in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) Appendix I. It is mainly located in alpine desert meadow steppe and upland grassland from 3 700 to 5 500 metres, Tibet, Xinjiang, Qinghai and Sichuan Provinces of China. During the long process of evolution,Tibetan antelope was adapt to unique and formidable natural conditions from the aspects of the external form, internal organ structure, ecological habits and behavior. It was recognized for the department of typical representative Qinghai-Tibet plateau animal area and important indicating species in natural ecological system, which had inestimable value in scientific research, ecological balance and humanities and aesthetics. Due to luxury of shawl (shahtoosh) was considered symbol of wealth and status which was born in Yu Kashmir favored by the nobility and the rich, a large number of Tibetan Antelope was killed by poaching from the late 1980s to the 1990s. But a series of measures was put into effect such as strengthening the construction of protected areas and habitats by State Administration of Forestry and Environmental Protection Department, and thus its population and distribution areas are gradually restored. At the present time, Tibetan antelope is still faced with tremendous pressure in living environment, local social economy development and illegal poaching, and the ability of species as a whole is still very weak anti-stress.

Plant species are being extincted at rapid speed. Biodiversity conservation is facing tremendous challenges in our Earth. China, one of the richest countries in biodiversity, is facing the hard facts that a large number of plants are being endangered. So it is very important to strengthen the conversation of these plant resources and maintain their diversity. In this paper, we summarized scientifically the concept and class definition, status and the characteristics of these endangered plant resources in China. We also analyzed the factors leading to plants endangered and discussed the conservation strategies of endangered plants.

From the point on economic value of diamond, it is the very expensive gemstone; from the point on science mining, it is a window to provide the physical states and chemical compositions of mantle. The nature occurrences of diamonds, the forming condition, its impurities, the feature of varied inclusions, and the origin model of diamonds have been introduced briefly. The major host rocks are peridotites and eclogites. Syngenetic inclusions in diamonds can offer the important evidences on the composition of host rocks, P-T condition of diamonds and residence ages in mantle of diamonds. In the last two decades ultra deep mineral assemblages as inclusions in diamonds were discovered and they may come from transition zone and lower mantle. According to this discovery diamonds are perhaps the unique window to recognized whole mantle.

The dating problem of time and duration from literature, physics, geosciences to geochronology was discussed. Although the isotopic geochronological method, after nearly a century of development, is now a mature approach to the time point measurement of a geological event, it is incapable of measuring its duration. A structural geochronology approach was thus proposed recently which could be used to measure the event duration directly. These two methods are complementary to each other.
