Major Research Progresses on the Ecosystem Service and Ecological Safety of Main Terrestrial Ecosystems in China

Abstract: The major research progresses of the 973 project “Ecosystem Service and Ecological Safety of Main Terrestrial Ecosystems in China” in the past three years are introduced. The main results include the mechanism of ecosystem processes and ecosystem services, comprehensive research of regional ecosystem, integrated assessment of national ecosystem structures and services, and ecosystem service valuation and ecological safety. Besides, the future research plan of this 973 project is briefly presented.
