Characteristics of flow over a circular cylinder closed to a wall

Abstract:  The flow over a circular cylinder near a wall is a simplified model from many practical engineering applications. There will be complex and abundant multiscale turbulent structures because of the interaction between the wake of a circular cylinder and the wall boundary layer. In this article, the changes in the frequency of vortex shedding, the drag and lift of the cylinder caused by this turbulent structure in engineering with the generation and evolution of this turbulent structure are summarized and analyzed. And some suggestions for further research are put forward.
