Abstract:

Single crystal superalloy is widely used in the turbin blades of aero engines due to its outstanding mechanical properties under extreme conditions, such as high temperature and pressure. The traditional research and developing methods can’t meet the needs for the modern blades with more complicated structure. The situation became to change with the advent of numerical simulation technique. Various field distributions during solidification can be calculated based on the numerical simulation, so as to predict casting defects, mechanical properties and help to optimize the manufacturing process. This can lead to the full coupling of process-structureproperty and fulfill its goal of multi-scale, through-process simulation.
