Archibald Hill and the discovery of aerobic recovery heat

摘要: 英国杰出的生理学家阿奇博尔德·希尔因有关肌肉产热的研究荣获1922 年的诺贝尔生理学或医学奖。他所发现的恢复热使研究者们对肌肉活动的生理过程产生了全新的理解,并对肌肉的生物化学研究产生了重要影响,为在当时最终建立起肌肉工作的全新模型奠定了坚实的基础。笔者对希尔荣获大奖这一历史事件进行了回顾与评述,以纪念希尔卓越的科学工作和不朽贡献。

Abstract: The distinguished British physiologist Archibald Hill won the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1922 for his discovery relating to the production of heat in the muscle. His discovery of recovery heat brought a new understanding of the physiological process of muscle activity, which produced important influences on the biochemical study of muscles and laid a solid foundation for the building of new model of muscle at that time. In this paper, this historical event is reviewed and commented, in honor of Hill’s outstanding scientific work and his immortal contribution.
