摘要: 随着新世纪的到来,海洋科学界正着手建设海底观测系统的网络,以探测和理解大洋系统的物理、化学、生物和地质等过程。这是继地面/洋面和空间之后,观测地球系统的第三个平台。从海底进行连续的实时观测,将使得人类可以长期“呆”在海里,从而改变人类与海洋的关系。同时,这第三平台还将提供窗口,窥测地球的内部过程。

Abstract: Entering the new millennium, the ocean science community begins to establish a seafloor observatory network to explore and understand the temporal variability of ocean system including its physical, chemical, biological and geological processes. This will be the third platform of Earth system observation after the first one from the land and ocean surface, and the second from the space.
