Since the first nuclear power plant established by the Soviet Union in 1954, many nuclear power plants with different types of nuclear reactors have been presented on the world. Main constructions of nuclear reactors and the developing process of the nuclear power plant are briefly described in this paper. According to features of the nuclear power plant, its position in the future energy and applying prospects are also mentioned.

The ARGO-YBJ experiment has been smoothly operated for five years. Many scientific goals were achieved. Here, we summarize all the major contributions and report them to the gamma ray astronomy community. Energy spectral distribution of galactic sources and flares of active galactic nuclei are included. A future experiment LHAASO is proposed to be the new generation of apparatus which will greatly enhance the capabilities in gamma ray astronomic research.

Venus is the Earth’s nearest neighbor “sister planet” with comparative size and mass, and it is very early to be speculated that Venus may be similar in the earth’s life environment, there is even creatures. But nearly half a century of detection show that Venus is more mysterious strange world what is different with the Earth. For example, the rotation of Venus is slow in opposite directions of the Earth (retrograde rotation) one night and day of Venus equals to 116.75 of earth days, less than two night and day of Venus will spend the one year of Venus——as “one day seems like a year”.Its dense atmosphere and cloud enveloped the global, and it is hard to see the true appearance. The atmospheric pressure at its surface is 93 times that at the earth surface, and strong greenhouse effect makes surface temperature of 467 ℃, where hot and dry environment obviously does not exist biological. 60% surface elevation difference is less than 500 meters and only 5% higher than 2 km above the surface. Different from the Moon and the Mercury with old and serious meteorite impact, the entire surface of Venus seems to be the same age and geologic young with less impact crater, and dominated by volcanic geology with an average age of less than 500 million years, where nearly 90% of the surface of the consolidation is basaltic magma, all lava flows and all kinds of volcanoes, faults and fracture, but without the earth’s delivery landscape with plate tectonic characteristics, it also do not have the ocean and river. A lot of secrets of Venus need further exploration.

The environment of Arctic Ocean are changing quickly with the global warming, e.g., the increase of water temperature and the descent of water salinity, the decrease of ice coverage and ice volume in summer, the increase of fresh water influx, and the occurrence of sea water acidification. These changes significantly influence the iceassociated ecosystem. The previous studies suggest that the habitats of the iceassociated organisms turn worse, the size of the primary producers become smaller, the decrease of ice algae decline the production of benthos, and the invasion of subArctic species influence the local species. Because the variations of Arctic Ocean environment and ecosystem exceed greatly what we expected and the knowledge is limited, a most important task for us in the coming years is to improve the observation systems and the forecasting capability of the potential changes.

]Nonpoint source pollution is one major source of environmental deterioration in China. The integrated watershed approach is effective for nonpoint source pollution control. On the basis of the successful experiences abroad as well as our own years of work in nonpoint source pollution control, Fudan University Basin Pollution Control Research Center put forward a complete framework of watershed pollution control and clean river network building with three guiding principles: (1) prioritize pollution control based on the watershed’s environmental capacity; (2) control pollution from cradle to grave; (3) emphasize highvalue nutrient recycling and watershed ecosystem recovery. To implement the above framework, Fudan University Basin Pollution Control Research Center conducted extensive research on pollution abatement from various nonpoint sources including rural sewage, rural solid waste, and agricultural fields, and made some interim progress in the establishment of technology systems for watershed pollution control.

It is a very important problem to determine the ages of stars in the stellar physics. Whether it can be well resolved or not is related to many other important issues in astronomy. The ages of stars are directly related to those from estimating ages of extrasolar planets to the age of the universe. In this paper, it is briefly described which ways in astronomy can be currently used to infer and estimate the ages of stars and what difficulties there are still to be introduced by the uncertainties in the evaluation of stellar ages with these methods.
